The Run with Carl is continuing its Labor Day tradition in the Quad City area. Memorializing the life of Carl Schillig through college scholarships and promoting the sport of running continues to be the primary objectives of the run. We evaluate each year's event for continued growth and improvement, and your comments and suggestions are always welcome.

Plan on joining us Labor Day Sept. 7, 2009 – 15 years and still growing.

The run proceeds fund the Carl D. Schillig Memorial Fund, Inc., a 501-c (3) organization. In addition to college scholarships, proceeds are distributed to groups/organizations in which Carl was active. These include the Bettendorf Swim Club, Rock River Striders, the Corn Belt Running Club and Our Lady of Lourdes Church.

We are currently providing eight college scholarships and Bettendorf and Pleasant Valley high schools, Recipients are attending the following colleges/universities: Iowa State University (3), St. Ambrose University (1), University of Iowa (1), Simpson College (1), Luther College (1), and Evangel University, Missouri (1). The names of past and current recipients are listed on the scholarship page.
